My New Favourite Red – Butter London Saucy Jack

Happy Monday, everyone !

I’m trying to do less swatches and more nail art at the moment, the April Challenge sure helps with that ! But I’m going to swatch this one for you anyway, because I am in love with this polish… Yep, the soft focus is totally appropriate

I like my reds bloody, shiny and deep, and this jelly pushes all my buttons !

This is 3 coats; no top coat. The colour is awesome. The first coat was a deep raspberry colour, but by the third coat, it matched the bottle perfectly. As per usual with Butter London, overworking this polish is not recommended, the formula is perfectly self-levelling, neither thick nor thin, and drying time is about average.

I totally understand that Butter London is fairly expensive compared to other brands, but if you can afford yourself the luxury, this shade is a sexy, visceral red, guaranteed !

April Challenge – Day 14 – French Mani (Nails Inc Feather Effect)

From leather to feather effect, I used a Nails Inc polish for this mani, too !

I really love Butter London’s Nail Foundation. It’s pretty expensive, but the bottle is huge! Plus, I suspect that I’m not the only nail blogger out there with some staining and this does a pretty good job of hiding it. I also love the matte finish, it’s a much more realistic look than pink, shiny nails !

I wasn’t quite so impressed with Nails Inc, though. I really respect that they try to bring out lots of different effects, and the colour mix in this polish is amazing, but I didn’ t like the formula much. It was very gloopy, which I guess is necessary to keep the glitter suspended. But the problem is, the glitter is quite sparse. So I had to do 3 coats for this coverage, leaving the tips of my nails very thick.

April Challenge – Day 4 – Green

As much as I adore green, I wasn’t feeling especially inspired. But, I decided to copy Craftynails’ Copycat of Theodora Nails from Oz. This came with 2 added bonuses – 1 – green is a great witchy colour – 2 – I finally got to open My Pointe Exactly, that I bought in a fit of madness 15 months (!) ago only to realise it wasn’t a creme and relegate it to a dark corner.

I used Thames (Butter LONDON) and My Pointe Exactly (O.P.I.).

Butter London, Swatch

Swatches – Butter London Sweetie Shop (Spring 2013) Collection ! Cuppa/Kerfuffle/Fiver/Jasper/Fruit Machine/Molly-Coddled

I am so glad that I caved in and bought this collection! All of these colours are stunning and the formula is pretty great

We have 6 in the collection :

Cuppa – the colour of a – very creamy – cup of tea (I like mine a tad stronger, but okay…) – a pale neutral, neither warm nor cold
Kerfuffle – somewhere between a coral and apricot pastel
Fiver – a pale minty green. For this type of shade, For Audrey is the reference. Fiver is paler and creamier
Jasper – lemon pastel yellow; just right for Easter nail art if you ask me !
Fruit Machine – a baby pink – pastel of course
Molly-Coddled – the purple of the collection

I love how all of these shades are perfectly coordinated! Though the collection overall has a distinctly pink vibe to it, and I would have liked to see a baby blue in there, the shades are perfectly balanced together.

Application & results are pretty much the same for all of the six, so I’ll go for a global review on this one

Time for some photos (I think I’ve nearly cracked the secret of noise-free non-blurries now! Bear with me, but at least the colours are accurate here
