Nail Art Ideas Linkup – Prompts for February NAILlinkup

It’s February already and you know what that means- the infamous Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Did you know that statistically speaking, more relationships break up on Valentine’s Day than on a regular day of the year? There’s just so many opportunities for disappointment on that day! We’ll all agree that it’s hard being a woman in today’s world. So how’s a girl supposed to survive Valentine’s Day? We have the answer- join our Nail Art Ideas Linkup challenge! We guarantee it will keep your idle hands busy and out of trouble. There won’t be time to eat two dozen heart-shaped chocolate candies. No. Instead, you’ll be painting those hearts on your nails. And forget about having one too many glasses of wine and drunk-texting your ex. Nope, he’s not worth it. Besides, why risk messing up your wet nails on him? Grab your favorite nail art brush because our February N.A.I.L. Linkup themes will help get you through the month unscathed! Here are the prompts-

October Themes for Nail Art Idea Linkup NAILlinkup

October is here and you know what that means for the nail art community- vampy nail art, spiderweb designs and lots of orange nail polish! Yes, we go a little crazy this time of year, but we wouldn’t want it any other way! We hope you jump on the Halloween bandwagon with us because we have some fantastic themes for our monthly Nail Art Ideas Linkup. Do one theme, do them all, or do them out of order. Our N.A.I.L. linkup challenge is flexible! So let’s take a look at our October prompts…

The Nail Art Ideas Linkup is back!

Welcome to Nail Art Ideas Linkup, also fondly called N.A.I.L. We’ve been running N.A.I.L. for about a year now and it’s a relaxed monthly nail challenge with about one theme per week. It’s not really a ‘challenge’ though… it’s more of a linkup. It’s a great way to share your nail art with other people in the nail art community. You don’t have to commit to doing all the prompts each month. It’s up to you so please jump in when you can. Do your nails anytime during the month and share them using our inlinkz and hashtag #naillinkup. Keep reading for all the deets!

We took off a month so we could run the 31 day Oh Mon Dieu Challenge in July. But that’s over, the winners have been picked, the prizes have been mailed out and now we’re itching for more nail art! So do you want to see our NAIL themes for September??

Giraffe Nail Art for omd2nails Butter London Billy No Mates + Chimney Sweep

Another quickie from me, I need to pack my computer to get back on the Eurostar home :) I’m leaving England even more tanned than when I took these photos!

So, for the Animal Print prompt (that’s quite hard to say out loud, try it!) I used 2 Butter London polishes – Chimney Sweep (dark, shimmery gunmetal grey) and Billy No Mates (a pale, cold grey that applies beautifully!) to do a freehand monochrome giraffe print, what do you think? :)

Announcing the full list of themes for the OMD2 Nail Art Challenge!

Welcome to our July OMD2 nail art challenge! The Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux is a 31 day international nail challenge with prizes. Anyone with a passion for nail art can join! For each of the 31 designs that you complete you earn a chance to win a prize in the end. In August we’ll pick 5 lucky winners from different areas of the world. The winners will be selected at random– no judging! Are you ready for some nail art excitement this July?

PROMPTS–
We have 31 days of nail prompts in July. You don’t have to start on day 1 and you don’t have to do every day. You can jump in whenever you can. It’s definitely fun to do them in order if you can! If you have any questions about these prompts, don’t hesitate to contact one of the OMD2 hosts-

Valentines Nail Art for Luchessa and the Polish Alcoholic’s Contest

Luchessa and Sabrina of Polish Alcoholic are holding a Valentines Nail Art Contest… So here’s my entry :)

I used a white nail art pen by Barry M and two Bourjois nail polishes – Rose Imaginaire and Bleu Model. They are very cute colours, but they are absolutely AWFUL to work with! A shame, because I had bought them especially for this spring, but both are streaky, runny and hard to level out :(

I Love You Guys! ILNP Giveaway

I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. Actually, this year, I’ll be going out to a restaurant with the Bloke, but it’s pretty much the exception! When I was a teenager, it was fun, but I just don’t get excited over it any more.

But, this year, I wanted to do something different, and tell you guys how much I love you! So, I’m holding a giveaway :)

There are two prizes, which will both go to one lucky winner. Both are by I Love Nail Polish. The first is Molly, a lovely raspberry holo. The second is Grape-alicious, a holo purple.

MoYou-London Suki Collection 01 Nail Art Stamping Plate

A couple of weeks ago, MoYou-London kindly sent me some plates to review. Today I have Suki Collection 01 to show you :)

First of all I went for a subtle look – I stamped a different pattern for each nail in Kiko Oil Blue over Ozotic 506.

It’s also nice to find a subtle way to wear nail art, I’m pretty sure I could even get away with something like this in the office ;-)

31DC2013 – Water Marble (catch up)

Don’t worry, I’m not going to spam you with all the catch-up I’ve got ;) I’ll spread it out over the next week!

So here are my water marble nails, that I didn’t post yesterday since I fell asleep early. I know a lot of people don’t like to do water marble nail art, because it’s so messy. Actually, I kind of love it because it’s so messy! And recently, I found some masking fluid (basically liquid latex) in a local craft store. It seemed pretty non-toxic (it’s made for kids) and more sturdy than PVA glue, so I grabbed some, and used that to mask my cuticles. It works so well! But, well if you follow my Instagram, you’ll see that I got a bit carried away, and basically marbled my whole hand…. Never mind, it came out great after clean up!
